I am a network engineer. My favorite areas include firewalls and load balancers...right now am working on a worldwide WAN/LAN migration for a customer.

Your type of job is not restricted to Plano only. This type of job should also be available in Richardson, Irving areas.

Also, given all the data centers that are being built near Alliance area in North Fort Worth, there should be jobs coming to that area.

The main concern in my opinion is that since corporate IT infrastructure is moving more into clouds, this type of job may not be as widespread in the future.

I don't think I want too much. I know I won't get to "have it all." Smaller schools, respectable ratings, safe neighborhood, older modest sized home, preferably closer to the outskirts of DFW, a solid G&T program...I am learning as I go along what expectations to keep and what to drop, I hope.

She wants to be in one of the hottest areas, cheaply. Very difficult.

Yes, I am working with a guy who has been very involved in the "data center in a box" concept. May tag along with him when this project wraps up if there is a good opportunity for me.
