I work in the medical district and my wife works at SMU. We're trying to find a decent daycare center in these areas indicated for one infant and one toddler for under $1500/month. These areas keep both of our commute to a reasonable level. Infant will be showing up in late September so we'd be looking to enroll both children at the same facility in mid-November or so. It's a pain figuring out tuition rates for daycare centers as very few of them list it on their website. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You want the combined amount to be below 1500.00 per month for two children or you are expecting to pay that for each child? I am looking as well. I find on many sites that do list rates, infant care alone is over 1000.00. I am checking the TX state department website that lists on site checks of facilities and there are some very helpful pieces of information there.

You're not going to find a highly rated, highly sought-after place for $1500 total for both kids. Many places are $1500 for just 1 kid. You should research some home daycares if you only want to spend $1500. Where I had my daughter in NE Richardson, barely Plano line, it was $840 and that was cheap compared to all the places $1100, $1400, and one place was $1600 a month and that was in 2007!! That $840 is no longer anywhere near $840, and it was full time from 6:30-6:30.

I agree with the Falconhead West. I wish you the best but I can only say that I have probably looked at the prices for 25 facilities. I have not found that many that did not list prices. (Some, but most I could find with some digging. Sometimes it is buried in the parent handbook or I was able to find it from parent reviews. A few I did have to call, which annoyed me.) I have not found one we would consider, in that price range. Now, we have been looking at a lot of facilities that seem to refer to themselves more as "schools" than simply daycares even if they serve infants and we have not yet considered home daycares, so I can't speak to rates there. Good luck in your search. So far we are frustrated. The highest quality option we have found was over 1,700/month for one infant. We would love to use it but it is out of reach.

North Oak Cliff has Cliff Temple daycare which may get you closer to the 1500 than other facilities.

If you're in any way affiliated with UTSW or UT Dallas, the Callier Center is an amazing option, but with two kids hits $2000 inclusive of their 10% discount for older sibling. If you haven't already, max out your pre-tax contributions to the flex savings account.

Last Edit:
First United Methodist CDC downtown!
Tuition listed at $850 for infants, $675 for preschools

First United Methodist Church Dallas | Developmental Learning Center[/quote]

Good luck getting a spot there. I tried all the downtown places when I was about 6 months pregnant with my son back in 2012 and there was a year long waiting list for infants for pretty much everywhere I called...which makes no sense to me, seeing how it only takes 9 months to make a baby! So now I tell everyone I know who is newly expecting and looking for daycare to start their search immediately.

@Aggielina, you're spot on. With their price restrictions they should have been on a waiting list the day they popped a positive pregnancy test.

Another place to check out would be Oak Lawn United Methodist. My son was there for about 2 years when I lived in Uptown. Considering the location, it is a tremendous value.

Got any SAHM friends that would do it? That might be your best bet. Be sure to include nanny tax into that amount, though. (basically add 7.5% and costs for dealing with the paperwork if you don't want to do it yourselves--it's a bit of a beast)
