I lived in the Northeast where people went nuts over Black Friday sales. People would go and start standing on lines after Thanksgiving Dinner so they can be the first ones to purchase a laptop for $199 or get a free ipod at 12:01 AM when the stores open up for Black Friday. How is it in Dallas (or Collin County) ? What were the best bargains in the recent years? (I need to furnish a house in 2 weeks so I may be one of those people standing on line this year to get a good deal )

It is every bit as bad here! The newspapers on Thanksgiving will be full of sales ads. People tend to go nuts over electronics and toys more than anything I think.

I hate shopping at this time of year. Too crowded for my tastes... I do my x-mas shopping online.

I'm the same way. I don't care haw cheap something is, I'm not standing in line for 12 hours only to shop in riot like conditions.

Or the mall being pack wall to wall with people. Not my bag at all.

Here's a nice website that lists all of the Black Friday sales by stores:

On the biz news channel, Friday, there was discussion that some stores are making plans to open Thursday evening, after the turkey hour.

I guess the guys will get to clean up the kitchen now...

Its just as bad here. Every year I always say I am going to get my shopping done early but ALWAYS procrastinate until the week OF Christmas. Maybe this year I'll try Amazon.com!
