Maybe..I was just stating that from a strategic standpoint I can't see WF wanting to be in the same town as Central Market. I suppose if your on that end of town it makes sense.

In Dallas you have a Central Market on Greenville and Lover's Lane and a Whole Foods near Park and Greenville; they are less than 2 miles apart and both do brisk business.

Well maybe I am wrong here, I admit..but these two stores are IN Dallas, so I would think it can support it.

In terms of Southlake, I just can't see Whole Foods wanting to be there with CM. But anything is possible I suppose. There is certainly enough money there.

NE Tarrant is one of the "hot" neighborhoods for relocations, and those of us who have lived here for a while all know why. The demographics here play right into the higher-end grocery stores' hands! Lots of families, health-conscious adults, and people who just appreciate a nicer grocery store.

That Target isn't in Grapevine, Colleyville, or Southlake. It's in Euless

I get what the other poster was trying to say. People who don't live off of 26 don't generally drive into there to shop. There's a decent number of half-empty shopping centers along 26 from south of Hall Johnson to just north of Precinct Line. It's starting to fill up again with WalMart Neighborhood Market and Whole Foods coming in, but I have to admit I've never seen that much dead retail space in a nice neighborhood.

Both stores are in Plano too, about 3 or 4 miles apart. Trader Joe's is right across the street from WF

Yup, and Plano's Central Market is at Coit and 190. The Whole Foods is at Park and Preston, which isn't exactly just around the corner but it isn't TOO far away.

I go to them all-they all have a different take on food-sometimes I feel like the lamb from whole foods-or the bread and cheese from central market or I try eatzis-or I just hit up the regular krogers (has some great foods from overseas) -anyhow if it's 20minutes drive for me it's fare game!

I lived near a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods in CA. The Central Market in Southlake is a much better store. There's also a little farmer's market store in Colleyville. It's very close to Southlake. And some great new restaurants on 114 in Grapevine that are far better than the ones in the little Grapevine Old Town. Southlake is getting some better restaurants now, and there are good stores in Southlake Town Center. It's a nice place to live, much more pleasant than Colleyville, Flower Mound or Plano.

All four cities have their pros and cons, hard to say which one is better. I have seen all other stores in Plano near my rental but not sure about Central Market or Farmers Market.
