If a group of area parents has its way, Woodrow Wilson High School will be even better by the time the class of 2017 hits those old halls.

The parents, mostly members of lower school and Woodrow PTAs, make up the Woodrow Cluster group. The cluster represents all the schools in the Woodrow feeder pattern - Lakewood, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, William Lipscomb, and Eduardo Mata elementary schools, J. L. Having a Spree at Lakewood Elementary

Lakewood Family Education Night last week at Lakewood Elementary School featured one of the most well-known names on the Dallas, and way beyond, music scene.

A pared-down version of Polyphonic Spree played two interactive sets for parents and kids and staff and faculty involved with the school.

Wonderful to see these kids create their memories in front of us. It looks like they had a great turnout at the event too.

It's kind of fun for me to see that the kids are still going through the same doors (in the background) that I and all the students since the school opened in 1952 have touched. Some of the pictures are practically in front of my old locker!
