Hey guys! Anyone know any affordable (up to $700/mo) places to live in Dallas? Everything that I've seen that has been in the $600-$700 price range either looks horrid or doesn't seem safe. I don't have a car (moved here from Chicago) and I work late sometimes, so I really want to move some place where I'll feel safe, seeing as though I take public transit. Thanks for reading!

Where will you be working? DFW is a huge area, and cmmutes here can be very lengthythere are large portions of it that are not accessible by public transportation. And, as you have found, $700 a month doesn't go very far here...

You need a car in Dallas, unless you can afford to live in a very expensive area and can walk to work, but if you can afford that, you'll have a car. Public transportation is awful here and doesn't really run late at night. You said "moved here" so you are already here working, where are you living, where is your work? That is a very low budget no matter what area you are going to live in.

You could get a Vespa, I've seen a lot of them lately. Vespa Dallas - motor scooter sales and service

Seriously though, where do you work? Dallas is a big place, people could help you better by knowing which rail line you'd need to take, etc..
