>> Has anyone been to Reunion Tower - specifically the Fifty Six (or is it Five Sixty, LOL) restaurant by Wolfgang Puck?

>> How is it / can you describe it for me in detail?

>> Is it family friendly (can we easily bring kids that are well controlled) at all?

Years ago I used to frequent the tower's restaurant and bar. You wouldn't believe how many free "The Dome" glasses I collected when I was a bachelor. LOL!!!! It was a great place to take a friend to a business lunch, a date / a wife, or family that came to town.

I liked the fact you could go to the restaurant, OR go to the bar and get a more casual meal (sandwich, cheese plate, drink, etc).

But after they closed for remodeling, I just haven't gone back since. But I want to go back!!! LOL.

Thanks!

It's Five Sixty, as in Reunion Tower is 560 feet tall.

Food is good; it's expensive and upscale.

You could bring well-behaved older kids, but I doubt they would enjoy it....unless you're raising little sushi snobs

I would make it a date night & leave the kids at home. It has very little in common with Antares, the former restaurant.

I was underwhelmed. Maybe teen friendly but doubt younger than that would eat anything on the menu unless they have developed a palate for "Asian Influenced" cuisine that skews heavily to fish/seafood option. Definitely not casual. Still remains a good option for special occasions and out of town guests but thought the food was only "just OK", can think of much better Dallas options at that price point (expensive).

Do they still have a bar style area, with tables & a view, on the "other floor"? And does it have a more casual menu and/or atmosphere?

Yes, there is still a bar on the lower level and it's part of Five Sixty.

No, it's not casual (same dress code enforced as upstairs) and it's not less expensive either. On the weekends, it's date night and during the week it's business dinners.

I dined at Antares the last time I visited Reunion Tower, which is now closed and replaced by Five Sixty. I was actually reading reviews for Five Sixty on Yelp the other day, and it seems like they're somewhat mixed.

Several reviewers on Yelp stated that every member in your party has to purchase their own meal and can't share.

I went with my husband and there was a table with two kids - well behaved and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Just make sure there is something on the menu for your kids to eat; not everyone is nice enough to make chicken tenders at a fine dining restaurant....560 is a lot of fish and seafood.

They don't allow kids into the bar area.

I much prefered Antares. I've only been once since it reopened with Five Sixty and I doubt I'll go back unless a new tenant moves in.
