Hello Dallas, just had a question. Does Lake Ray Hubbard have an area you can swim in or at least sand so you can sun bathe? I'm new to the area and moving a few streets from Lake Hubbard but didn't see any beachers or swimmers out. I ask because in Cleveland we have Lake Erie and have plenty of sand where you can sun bathe and things like that. So I didn't see sand anywhere but I am new here and haven't explored or found everything out? Thank you for your help.

Default Looking for the best and worse elementary schools in garland

Hello Dallas. I am looking suggestions on the best and worse elementary schools in Garland. We are knew to the area and haven't been able to compile a list based on experience. I don't necessarily need the best school that piles homework on top of children like their adults, as I think school should be interactive and not all about homework. But I am looking for best in the since of students that attend, academics, ratings for passing state mandated tests and things like that. Thank you for your help.

DOWN TO ONE DAY AND COUNTING..........

People do swim in Lake Ray Hubbard. Over off of I-30 at Robinson Park people do swim. It is just not a big swimming lake. Nor are there lots of sandy beaches along it unless we are in a drought, lol. There are a TON of boaters on the lake and several marinas. There is one area where the boats all congregrate and people swim around and all.

I have seen people swimming in the lake as well, but I am not sure if its legal as there is no designated swimming area and the police have made people get out of the water in the past. Ray Hubbard is particularly choppy and murky I would advise against it.

I think it would be risky if you are swimming from a boat because it is so crowded--people would jet ski right over you

lots of people swim in Hubbard. And the police see people swimming in there alll the time and do nothing about it.

Depending on the wind boats usually congregate near I30 and EVERYONE is swimming.
