Well, then you should appreciate how bizarre Musk’s actions are.
Example, say you have a department of 10 people. Only two are valuable. Logic would dictate that the 8 are fired and the 2 valuable employees are kept. Instead, Musk leaves the decision on who goes entirely to the employees. So, the 2 valuable employees could decide to leave, and the remainder decide to stay. Or, all 10 could decide to leave. That’s nutty.
By the way, I think value is better measured by productivity and critical knowledge rather that hours worked.
Clearly many posters here have never been the “20% doing 80% of the work”. It’s demoralizing when non workers are retained or even rewarded. So by dropping all the boat anchors, not only does efficiencies increase, so does morale. Musk, Buffet, and other billionaires didn’t make their money on good looks.
Now we know Musk's real reason for buying Twitter. He spends $44 billion to buy Twitter, so he can unban Trump. He will support Trump to get reelected. Then Trump will pay him back with 10 times more in corporate welfare.
Woah. Is there TV stations playing out this narrative? Where is this coming from? Musk is cleaning out the bots so that Twitter users can engage with actual humans. Free speech too.

Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion and then he unbanned Trump. I think it's reasonable to assume that Trump might be grateful for that. Tesla and SpaceX have already received over $5 billion of corporate welfare. If Trump gets re-elected, there is going to be a lot more coming. Musk is going to get his $44 billion back, and it's not going to come by making Twitter profitable.
Fun fact #1:
The World Cup kicks off today (November 20, 2022)
Fun fact #2:
The previous three World Cups that have been held have seen the highest global Twitter usage over the platform's existence.
Impeccable timing, Mr. Musk.
I'll say it again. Elon Musk has been brilliant at building electric cars and rockets. He has therefore concluded that he's a genius at... everything. But he's not. He has no idea how Twitter works. Twitter isn't physics. Twitter is social interaction. Elon Musk running Twitter is like Albert Einstein being in charge of programming for CBS Television, or Werner von Braun running the marketing department for McDonald's.
There's a lot of interest in how Twitter will handle the amount of people live-tweeting the World Cup this week.
Musk also unbanned some controversial posters, including Trump. He'd initially said that there would be an internal review process for terms of service violations for previously banned accounts, but it ended up being a vote by Twitter poll.
It's rare for me to go on twitter but I did happen to catch his posts where he wanted input on Trump and a few other banned celebrities, I was able to vote on it.

I'll be surprised if Trump goes back on unless it's to post a link to his social media called truth social

People love to hate Musk, just like Trump. I hope the people that left have a hard time finding more work, don't get unemployment either since they walked out.

And what will you say if a week from now, despite record Twitter usage from WC, despite insider claims that Twitter would be dead within a week, if Twitter is getting along just fine?

Because of the way they all abandoned ship by quitting so fast after he came on. They did not give him time to settle in, to see what working for him would be like and if he was really that hard to work for, instead they all just split.
It's an impulsive move.
