What kind of city is Waterbury? I hardly hear anything about it and was wondering if it is more of an industrial city or does it vary in terms of appearance.

Welll...yes, it is/was an industrial city. However, to answer your question, yes there are places that are not. Bunker Hill, the East End, West End and parts of the South End near Naugatuck are neighborhoods that are still in decent shape.
