Maybe you are thinking of something else. I was referring to the Avon Village Center. Drive by it everyday to work. It is constantly being worked on. New buildings being built.

Under realtor.com, 78 single family homes “recently sold” for Avon shows 17 houses above $700K. The rest, 61, are under $700K with 30 being under $400K.
Avon is no where near a median sales price of $600K+. Most of the pretty big houses (4 bed, 3+ bath, 3000+ sq ft are in the high 4’s to low 6’s and not that many people are buying significantly bigger than that
Exactly. The “Avon median 700k” figure is absurd. I have in law family in the town and it’s nowhere near what some are portraying here. It’s an upper middle class town, at absolute most.
Their posting such does a disservice to those who are seeking actual data on the community.
Demographically, Avon is most similar to Brookfield in median income, population and even aesthetics (semi rural suburb and fairly well kept). Avon, while beautiful and upscale, has nowhere near the uniformity in uber wealth common in Greenwich, Darien, Westport, etc. It’s quite a bit less wealthy than even Ridgefield.
Nah. Avon is a lot more Asian/Indian and a higher percentage of college grads than Brookfield. Higher birth rate. The per capita income is much higher than Brookfield. Tons of physicians from UConn, Hartford Hospital, and St Francis. I would guess the schools are pretty competitive with some tiger parents. Hartford is a bigger metro than Danbury so Avon has a bigger concentration of health care and manager class. Hartford isn’t NYC so you have solidly upper middle class rather than wealthy. Health care and manager class have a lower compensation ceiling.
Only Monroe and Trumbull. They're quiet.
Greenwich and Fairfield are big CT cities. Rt 1, 95 development make Westport appear larger than it is, busy, traffic.

Hebron just didn't feel like home to me. I was not impressed when I went out there a few times.

The same applies to the other towns mentioned. Avon also has many Hartford area executives (insurance companies, aviation, etc.) and well off businessmen as well. Jay
