We’ve been traveling for the past three years so this is our first summer back since 2019. All I can say is I’m glad we are snowbirding now, because if I had to go through this cool, cloudy, rainy summer with the knowledge that after this comes the cold winter, I’d be looking for the nearest train to step in front of. We adore Connecticut and New England, but after thirty winters we’ll never do another one again. I distinctly remember going through similar summers to this one in the past and feeling royally ripped off.

NE CT has seen rain almost (?) everyday since the tropical storm. All I’m asking is a chance to mow my lawn…

Again, not complaining, just amazed... Waking up to overcast skies again. Lack of sun is incredible. Solar Minimum?

I'm in hell. I'm never in hell in summer.

This has to be the longest stretch of rain and cloudiness ever.

I remember a long period of rain in the mid-90s.... in May

I remember the week of rain in Oct 2005

I managed to mow the front lawn.... last Wednesday. Right now it's "mow the lawn or ride the bike?".

I think the bike will win. All our lawns look ragged. I'm going to need a scythe for the back yard.

I think, maybe, I saw a little spot of blue this morning. Oh and thunder woke me up again. Thank you very much for messing up my sleep AND killing my ride this morning.

You root against sun? Are you even human?

Totally feeling your pain. I went out at 5:30pm to see if the lawn was dry enough to mow. My dog walked over and started drinking from the lawn. There is still standing water in the lower-lying areas and much of the rest is swampy. The ground is pretty saturated, so we’re going to need some help from the weather, here.

I've been loving this cool, relaxing weather. No watering the garden either although my squash leaves were in danger of getting mildew. We had two weeks of rain back in the 1970s and some apt roofs caved in.
