So, the last 2 storms where we had projected totals about a foot and we get nothing, and than for this one which just looked like a dusting (after it was like 60 degrees over the weekend) and we have 4 inches and counting.

Just proves my point that meteorologists who are actually paid for this stuff know squat and everyone should just take their weather report from Cam instead of turning on those dopey news outlets.

What's the missing piece here?
That's too much common sense.

As for my opinion on this almost April fool's snow, um...

There's got to be 5-6" in Branford and Guilford. Wet, heavy stuff.

Cambium should be hired at least by News 12 with a very generous compensation package. Best weather guy ever!

Weather reporting is now for ratings and hype

Just saw this on Jackson's Weather (a great FFC blog run by a teenager who unlike some other teenage blogs in other nearby regions, is not sensationalist, alarmist, etc.....has a great subsite that predicts the chances of school delays and cancellations pretty well). I did not realize that in 1982 Bridgeport got less snow than NYC in the April storm (and obviously got more on April 1, 1997). It was officially just under 4" at 8am at BDR, so I am pretty certain this one will end up #2 for April and possibly #1! Weird thing is the "jackpot" in 1982 was just over the Sound in Islip at 16"! (but yeah, I think I heard that one just last month too)

Been snowing pretty much every week since March 7th.

Half foot snowstorm in April now.

At least the soil temp is above 45°.

10:40am Map with temps and storm reports. Yeah, pretty much a 4-6" snowstorm for NYC metro. Temps hovering around freezing.

Western CT pretty much done now other than flurries. Skies should start to brighten up. Maybe some sun later?

NWS says BDR at 5.7" as of 10am. I think this will be the all-time (records to 1948) April snowstorm for them, topping 1982.....they just need 0.3" to tie and 0.4" more to break.
