What about at night? Do we still drop below 40°? Thats when it would have to happen. Or an arctic blast that keeps temps in 30s during the day. It happens. More for 1st half though.

But lets get through this one first. Maybe I'll retire after this one. 4 in 2 weeks is enough. Lol

I just look at long range weather forecast

April 50-67 degree, one day of 74, the low of 34-45 degree at night

1st week----Sunny high in 50's and low 35-42
2nd week-- Two days of rain high of 50s and low 60s
3rd week--- Four of seven days we can see period of rain with high 50-67 degree
4th week--- One of seven days we can see period of rain high in 60s and possible 72

2nd week of May major change to our weather more summer like, March 27th is last day for snow showers, March 29th and beyond we are going see high of 50's daily. The night time going be little chilly in April and 1st week of May it won't feel that cold. Toward end of May and June look beautiful

April 1st is Easter Sunday.....so you probably want it to snow April 2!

(BTW, it did snow massively once on Easter, in 1970 (on March 29))......and it did snow big on April Fool's Day in 1997

One thing kind of bothering me about the sudden "snowpocylpse" forecasts, is just this. It's supposed to snow during the day mostly, so I wonder how well this is going to stick, especially to roads? The temperatures I'm hearing are mostly above freezing, granted not a ton above, and there's that March sun angle someone used to talk about....

I know it is not "impossible" to get 8 or 12 inches of snow this late into March but some of the major snows this late in the season in the past have mostly had even more abnormal cold than we have now where it was actually in the 20s or below out. For example, I looked up that in 1956 over a foot of snow fell on tomorrow's date and it was in the mid-20s all day.
In 1967 a similar deal happened on Wednesday's date, but it was in the single numbers the previous couple of mornings (in the case of NYC it was their latest in the year single digit temperature ever and they haven't had one for any date in March since, though there have been a few 10s and 11s, most recently in 2003 I believe). Even last year's big snow on March 14 had colder weather than we have now (I believe Cambium noted that although this March is considerably below normal, for the most part the lows are only a tiny bit below normal so that last March was actually colder so far....in fact both NYC and BDR did not have a low under 30 for this month until this week).

Makes me wonder even if many areas get the preciptation and even moderate to heavy snowfall being predicted, it just won't stick so much. We'll see....

And that too had unprecedented cold for that time of year......even NYC was near 20 and Newark was in the upper teens! But maybe we are going to be colder with this storm than they are predicting.....

Honestly.....I'm too tired to start a thread for CT but I do have the other dedicated thread (NorEaster #4).....

W....T....F...??????

I see what happened overnight... Colder. So normal ratios. Not heavy wet. Welcome to Winter 2018-19..

Euro shows 5000' in the low 20s. Less precip than previous update. Only 0.60" but at 12:1 ratios = 6-9" snow.
Also note the light at the end of this tunnel??? Still 10 days away though.
