Yawn. Boring over here. That cloud that split the gap between Cambium and me was the only exciting part here

6am and I'm walking outside with sandals and shorts feeling warm (74°F!)

77° at Bridgeport, CT coast. Normal low is 65°. That'll continue to raise the Avg temp this month which is 5th warmest on record.

I got overcast conditions here. Cloudy.

August hasn't been nice! 4 of the last 5 yrs have been Top 5 warmest. 2014 and 2017 WAS NICE.

Here you go. Precip amounts past 24hrs. Match the dots to the legend at top.

Lets focus in on Hartford county... WOW. That's just how nature rolls. Always has. Now we have more reports around to see how crazy location is and where the heaviest falls for a particular day

Less than 1/2" in Southington while a months worth in East Hartford.

Just to have a visual, just google or do a twitter search for Downburst, Downpour, Rain shaft, ect and you'll see images of why some areas get crazy rain while others nearby don't.

See where the intense rain is falling and depending how it moves or weakens/strengthens, other spots nearby will get less/more.

Any word if we had a confirmed tornado or not? Connecticut River Valley or in Tolland County?

Northeast

There was an expansion of abnormally dry conditions (D0) in southwestern West Virginia. This area has received very little rain over the past couple of weeks, combined with above-average temperatures since the start of summer. In New England, there was some much needed precipitation over the abnormally dry areas there. This prevented the need for deterioration, but was insufficient to erase the longer-term deficits. There were reports of brown fields and rolled soybeans in New York's Monroe and Orleans over the past week, but rainfall there over the weekend seemed to be sufficient for the time being. This is an area to watch.

Before anybody bites my head off, this map only reflects what fell up to 8 AM Eastern on Tuesday. Safe to say the yellow in Litchfield County should be gone next week.

If the radar was showing the potential and NWS saw the need for the warning, you know there were some crazy looking low level clouds around.. Here's a video from yesterday afternoon!
