Loop last 4 hours. Those icons with arrow are storm reports of trees and wires down. Watch their temps go from 90s to 70s while CT stays in the 90s going into 8pm now

We didn't cool off!!

First it was a Sea Breeze front last week, Now its the Bermuda High stalling the front!
All models performed poorly with this! This means the warm air lingered overnight and into today and heavy showers will be around today and tomorrow. Guess that means clouds too.

National Weather Service New York NY
531 AM EDT Mon Jul 22 2019

.SYNOPSIS...
A frontal boundary remains stalled over the area into Tuesday,
with waves of low pressure developing along it.

Bermuda high pressure remains strong to the south, and has
acted to slow the progression of a cold front across the area,
which is expected to remain stalled into Tuesday. Both
deterministic and hi-resolution data performed poorly last night
with the development of convection that moved across the area
earlier. For the most part, these models maintain a mostly dry
forecast for the morning. However, with an upper trough
approaching from the west maintaining isentropic lift in the
vicinity of the stalled frontal boundary and elevated
instability, showers with locally heavy downpours may develop at
any time. Maintained chance POPs for now.

By afternoon, flow largely becomes parallel to the stalled
frontal boundary, with 2+ inch PWATs advecting into the region
once again. With the slow nature of the upper trough, there will
be an extended period where storms may back build and train
across the same areas, enhancing potential for flash flooding.
Initially this threat will be greatest across northeastern New
Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley, NYC, and Nassau County, NY,
before slowly moving eastward overnight. There is better
consensus of this scenario happening, which has been featured
consistently from run to run. See the hydrology section for more
information.
Bermuda High and a Canadian High on the map. One stalling the front in northeast keeping hot air south of it, the other providing Fall-Like 40s and 50s to the plains

Had so many outdoor projects to do but there's been only a few windows of opportunity throughout this whole year....again.

Too cold, too snowy, too rainy, too wet, too windy, too hot, too humid, too busy, too tired, too lazy, too many mosquitoes, ect. ect.

I opened my windows, I really need some fresh air.

I hear you on the projects. I work on one little piece of the yard a week, weather permitting. Haven't touched the front at all and my bushes are 3 weeks overdue on trimming (I did some cleanup in them last week but not enough)

The heat wave is over. It won't be hitting 90 degrees today. It still feels moderately humid, however.

81 and 65. It looks like the heat wave for the Hartford region is over with. The day is now down to 5:36 am and 8:18 pm. 14 hours 42 minutes. It's now a loss of 33 minutes since summer started on June 21st at 11:54 AM EDT.

Dews in the 60s. Never thought I'd say it's a relief for that. lol. 7 days of max dews in the 70s. That's enough please.

At least we don't live south of NYC. Fronts always take their time getting there. That's why their heat waves are longer than ours. Still sunny today and 90s NJ southward. I'll take these normal 80s and clouds!

HEADS UP FOR HEAVY RAIN/STORMS LATER! Cold front pushing up against a warm humid airmass.

I don't know how sunny it is up there today, but they only predicted low 80s and a lot more clouds and rain for the tri-state area and they were wrong as much of the rain so far has been pushed north and because of all the sun it is in the upper 80s already. So knowing BDL's penchant for having the highest temperatures in the region a la Newark and LaGuardia (who were 99 and 100 respectively yesterday, and BDL also hit 100) I wouldn't be surprised if they squeeze on more "90" out today...

It's 85 in Hartford but only 80 up at Bradley. Maybe they've got more cloud cover? The Barnes Airport station in Westfield, MA is only showing 69 degrees. Hmmm!
