All that being said, I'm enjoying this warmer than normal stuff especially at this time of the year. Shout out to torchtober!
3 year ago I went boating on Christmas day... it was at least 60, maybe even 70... I've got pictures to prove it!!

Southerly winds still here. A/C on. Temp 68° outside at 8:22pmEST (normal is 55° for this hour)

Here's a look at current wind gusts. Some Trees down in central NY. Note the northerly winds behind the cold front. Louisiana got the front to pass before us. Should happen after midnight in CT

A question. We have a nice little cherry tomato plant on our back porch. I thought it was done for the year but with the warm weather about 35 tomatoes are growing on it. It looks funny tiny little plant. I'd love to help these mature but with the cold weather tomorrow night they are doomed I think. Besides bringing the plant in (which the wife wont do) how can I survive them till the warmer weather over the weekend?

Protect it from the frost and it should be fine. In the past, I have just draped an old cotton bed sheet over the plant and it does the trick.

It turns out that this warm autumn is no surprise after all.

A few minutes ago I found this article originally published back in July.

The warm spell is suppose to last until November. Yes, you read that correctly.

This article published in September by The Weather Channel basically says that in our part of the country temperatures will begin to fall in November and remain below average through out December. Reminds me of the comment I made a couple of pages back. lol

61° at 7am. Normal is 45°. Cold front came through, now its time to drop. Actually, wont drop much with daylight coming.

Same temp here as central Louisiana. Widespread frosts in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin.
