Reason for this heat is that dreaded southeast ridge. Also known as the sub tropical ridge...

Some light showers tomorrow

I almost spit my food out reading this. Can u find the typo? Lol.

Hint: It has a 10 on it.
Another hint: it wont be in the 30s tonight.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
405 PM EDT Tue Oct 10 2017

A northwest extension of the Sub-tropical ridge remains over the
area tonight, with associated subsidence keeping cloud cover at
a minimum, outside of some cirrus working its way over the top
of the ridge at times.

Lows tonight should be around 10 degrees below normal. Depending
on the temperatures right before 1 AM (midnight LST), record
maximum lows for today (10/20) could be set at area climate
sites. See the climate section of the AFD for details on the
records
