No prolonged. No heat waves. No long stretches of high humidity.. So far so good.

At Bridgeport Dewpoints have been below normal this month. In fact only twice since 1993 has it Averaged under 57.5°F.

3:20pm temps..

and dews

Love those Canadian Highs. Keeps the humidity in check! Also those fronts that stall SOUTH of NYC. Need them to be south of us otherwise we would be Hot and Humid

For the weekend.. if you were a forecaster which would you believe? The NAM or GFS? Same thing if you wanted to find out if its gonna rain or not... which do you believe?

That's all forecasting is. Going by what weather models say and in the end mother nature always wins.

Sorry, I'm not gonna answer...pick. Lol

National Weather Service New York NY
607 PM EDT Thu Jun 21 2018

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Upper low will continue to open up and flatten through the day on
Saturday as it moves across the Great Lakes region. The flattening
shortwave will continue to traverse across New England on Sunday.
The main upper flow over the Northeast this weekend into next week

Closed upper low opens as it traverses across the Great Lakes region
and into New England this weekend. Another shortwave in a broader
cyclonic flow regime aloft will pass on Monday. Upper ridging
returns for Tuesday into Wednesday with the next possible shortwave
for next Thursday

There has not been too much change in the overall thinking for
sensible weather. There are still differences in the model guidance
with the depth of surface ridging and the exact direction of the
surface winds. The NAM on Saturday has northeast flow at the surface
and the GFS is more easterly. The NAM depicts a weak surface wave
moving off the south and east on Saturday and the GFS has less of a
reflection of a surface wave
. This will make a big difference in low
level moisture and the potential advection of drier dew points from
the northeast into the region.

Confidence in higher PoPs has lowered
and therefore have lowered them until the evening hours. Saturday
may just remain overcast with some light rain at times, with better
forcing and moisture arriving in the evening as the warm front and
shortwave axis nears the region.
The shortwave axis lifts up into
northern New England after 06z, which will end any showers.
Instability is weak Saturday night, so will just mention slight
chance of thunder

End of the month into July it looks like that could change. Saw some talk of some big heat building back in late month.

Yes, no more swinging troughs and cold fronts pushing south after next week. Heat builds.

Here comes July.

This weekend... Sorry for those of you with outdoor plans but its summer so I don't mind the Jet stream & front over us. We been lucky getting these dips, down south is just on fire.

Imagine waking up to 30s in late June. . I'll take my 60s, no problem!

Those 30s are from 700-1500' elevation and the 39° is Mt Washington. Warmer at 6200'. lol

Sun was out at 6am but now its all clouds.

I'll be moving to the Mojave Desert soon so I'm not complaining about the cool mornings. The dogs love it.

111° yesterday in Vegas. People were trapped inside. Gross. Good luck with that "dry heat". I think anything over 100° dry or not is unenjoyable.

United States Drought Monitor > Current Map > State Drought Monitor

How much rain might we see on Saturday? New Britain's Willow Brook has looked awfully low lately.
