So say that then. Don't say we can "expect" a certain type of weather, just say its a possibility. The National Hurricane center doesn't have it tracking very close yet. . It's just a way to create hype.

Wouldn't it be wiser to say "we are tracking Jose closely and there is a possibility it could track into our area" rather than "Expect high tides , wind and rain?

Exactly. Instead, I just watched them say "Connecticut is officially in the cone of uncertainty, are you prepared?"

I get it. If tomorrow, the trend still continues west, I'll quietly grab some things to prepare for a power outage. But the media will have everyone in a frenzy in no time.

I still doubt this thing will pull west far enough to create major problems for our area. But I admittedly know little to nothing about meteorology.

Well for the next 6 days its still summer and we are definitely prone to an 80 degree day or two in mid September...spoiled are we?

Average high for Danbury on Sept. 15 is 75 current temp 77. So..essentially normal.

I agree..but what is odd is the NHS has this.......

Although the center of Jose is forecast to pass well east of the
North Carolina coast early next week, tropical-storm-force winds are
expected to extend well west of the center and could approach the
North Carolina Outer Banks on Monday. Farther north along the U.S.
east coast, the chance of some direct impacts from Jose is
increasing, but it is too soon to determine their exact magnitude
and location. Interests along the U.S. east coast from North
Carolina to New England should monitor the progress of Jose through
the weekend.

lol. To be honest I haven't looked at any of the latest. I like to be surprised sometimes.

Back on for a quick look at the map after I saw it snowing in Montana.

Figured I grab the current temp map for us..

9:43pm warm September evening outside in the low 70s but not like in Southern Minnesota or Iowa.
National Hurricane Center has Jose close but weakening to a Tropical Storm by time it gets close.
