Latest 12z models for Saturday-Sunday for CT only.

GFS: 6-8" of snow Saturday night, changes to sleet then rain Sunday morning, then back to 2-5" of snow Sunday evening

Canadian: Rain

German: 6-20" of snow Saturday night, changes to rain Sunday morning

Euro: Updates in 1 hour.

THIS is why forecasts are all over the place. Forecasts are based on a blend of models and they change when the model outcome changes. Some weigh in more on one then the other. TOO SOON still to know details

A foot for you in CT and 2 inches for me in SWNJ. See that was easy!

Yeah, too soon!

BTW: A LOT of snowmelt (especially still being January) has already taken place from yesterday's approx., 3.5 inches of snow.

New Euro. Oh boy. Get the White Flag out again! LMAO! Warmer than previous run. Little snow to a lot of ice or rain Sunday. depending where you are!

WOW at the qpf!!!

Boston: 2.55"
Hartford: 2.47"
NYC: 2.41"
Philly: 2.23"

That freezing line was much south more with the previous run keeping cold air over us. Pushed it north with this run. NOT GOOD. NO ICE STORM PLEASE!

Would not be good! This would be a historic devastating Ice Storm. Pray this run will not verify. Luckily we're still 6 days out!

Here's Hartford's data from Euro12z. Yikes! Lots of liquid falling through warm layer with surface below freezing.

Ehh I'd be ok with an ice storm. Very fun to track, though would prefer snow. Just anything but rain!!!

Oh yeah another note - tomorrow marks 2 months since the November snowstorm (last >1" snowstorm)

with snow at least you can drive and plow it. With ice you cant even step outside your door and you have damage to property and power outages.

I'm talking over 1/4" worth. No need, and Im actually scared of ice storms. Seeing trees bending and hearing them snapping and seeing transformers blowing, and feeling loss of control under my feet and wheels, is a nightmare embedded in me.

With you 100%. Power outages and cold temps just don't mix

I seem to remember one big ice storm since I got here. I remember it was pure ice only, no snow whatsoever. Driveway took a long time to melt afterwards. Have any idea which storm it was? I don't remember... (got here in fall 2008 if that helps)
