This is interesting. I live in NYC and usually they would be breaking into television programs well in advance of this storm. Instead, they are taking a sit back approach and just saying, "We're tracking a possible storm for Tuesday." I am not into all the drama that typically accompanies these types of weather events, but if it's really looking like it's going to be a whopper, they should put a little meat on the reporting now so people can prepare over the weekend. Not suggesting they set off alarm bells but there surely is a happy medium between calling for Snowmageddon and a the lax way they are saying we might get a little snow.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the locals bought plenty of milk and break for yesterday's dusting

The Weather Freak channel (aka:TWC) is making a big stink about it, my local Philly stations = more like crickets.

Default Can we get updated maps every 12 hours???

Latest Euro has this for snow totals.. Other models pretty much agree but the Euro is the wettest. Over 1.50" precip of all snow.

Close up using 15:1 ratios. Not sure if we'll have those kind of ratios but you never know.

Couple this with crazy wind gusts and kids will be talking about this for decades like we are the March 1993 storm of the century.
It would help if we could get updated maps every 12 hours until it is more certain.
Thanks for all your help!

I feel they've been downplaying the storm. Not sure if due to the uncertainty of the storm.

Per Taunton NWS discussion, "we are less confident in details, including
exact storm track which has huge implications on precipitation type."

They also mention, "00z models have begun to trend more toward southern New
England coast." So don't bet all your money on a blizzard yet.

NBC CT is cautiously forecasting this storm, which is reasonable:

Quote:
Tuesday's storm has the potential to be a powerful nor'easter. Right now it looks like accumulating snow is likely with some parts getting more than a foot.
