I was just looking at something. There were so many other years for the period coming up that maybe we might not really jump too far up.

Not in front of PC now but quick check saw Boston was mid upper 60s many years for Dec 10-14 period.

Also interesing note..

NYC Sunmer mean Max temp was 28th warmest. Mean Minimum temp was 5th warmest. The lows contributed to being one of the warmest Summers.

Yeah, if you find the data you'll see that most winters even in the 1800s actually have at least a few 50s and even some 60s in them so having them in and of itself doesn't mean you-know-what. But what makes many of the old years colder is the low temps.

So as I theorize, it's those mean minimums that have me wonder and I'll leave it at that.....

Normal max is mid 40s. Who has upper 60s? But yeah, when departures are more than 12 outside normal its interesting. Unlike Florida where they rarely get 5 above or below normal. LOL Our climate isn't as stable. Places like the Mid West or Interior South get bigger departures then us.

CT treats the bridges anytime the temp drops below freezing. Whether it's wet or not. I've been seeing it for weeks now

Bridges over water I can see because of possible fog and moisture the river will cause.
