Westport, CT this morning. I had to do some digging to find the sand.

Still a foot of snow on the beach. Less closer to water of course. I found a range of 5-14" at the park/beach. March 10, 2015

Here's another graphic of the current snow depth. Still seeing 20"+ in CT and New England.

Any more reports from out there?
That map is so weird how there's no snow cover in Brooklyn and Queens but plenty everywhere else!

Is there a criteria to that? I find it hard to believe 19" is the all time record there when 20+" fell in March during the blizzard of 1888, there would've been a 20" snow cover then even for a day and there's photos out there to prove it was more than a day. Or do snow cover records in NYC cover a much shorter timeframe than things like temperature or actual snowfall? (like post-1950 or something)

But I'd certainly believe top 5 and probably most March snow cover in almost anyone's lifetime alive today (and I would agree it's #1 in terms of how many days of any snow cover in March, let alone this amount of snow).

Check out the period on record on the Top 10 I listed above. They started keeping records in 1912. Still, that's 103 yrs ago. Impressive.

And just in case others don't know, snow depth is recorded every morning at 12z (7amEST)

Yes thats still impressive, thanks! That also explains why this year broke the record in NYC for consecutive days of snow cover (set in 1947-48) since I think one or two 1800s periods wouldve broken it.

Though per this article, the true "snowy times" are now:

The article I read about the consecutive days of snow cover in Central Park was wrong, 1947-48 is #1, but they're not even ahead of last year (though I think at BDR it is an all time record), in fact it's still 2 days behind last year's long stretch and is #5 all time for now.

Interesting take on this article about how the setup of different areas affects snow cover and how fast it melts:

Another? Here, tell your grandkids. lol

Number of Days Bridgeport had 11" or more of snow on the ground in a month.

Feb 2015 had 21 days which was the most on record.
March this year is the most with 10 including today
2nd most for a season.

So in the last 67 yrs on record, there's never been this much snow sitting there for so many days in February and in March.

Only 1 other year did in March in 1967 but it was for 1 day.

They had 12" this morning so add a day into March and the season. Wow!

We have never seen snow cover into March like this in Southern CT.

What was my guess?

Just took this picture. When will it all melt? Surreal.

Nuts.

Light rain and gutters free flowing had to make my way to clear a path and take snow away from founation and clear any ice in the drain.

Thought you'd be interested to know Cam that my 27" drift from last night is now measuring in at just a hair over 23"! That's quite impressive melting in one day -- not sure how warm it got here this afternoon, but I would imagine a combination of the warmish temps plus the rain is what knocked it down nearly 4 inches in one day. Excited to see what tomorrow will bring. I'm ready to reclaim my deck soon!!
