CT Station OBS sorted by Highs of the day.

First time BDL hit back to back 60°+ since October 15-16, 2013 (169 days ago)

Even a cold lover like myself really appreciated the warmth of today. I think I enjoy it since we drop to the 30s still. Nice break.

BDR having a communication issue.

Dont be surprised if you see sleet overnight. Tommorow a raw day. They mention the cold Atlantic.

NORMALLY COLDER/HIGHER ELEVATIONS PRIMARILY N OF NYC AND ACROSS INTERIOR CT MAY SEE SOME SLEET MIX IN OR EVEN A BRIEF PERIOD OF ALL SLEET LATE TONIGHT AS INITIALLY DRY LOW/MID LEVELS UNDERGO
SOME EVAPORATIVE COOLING/WET BULBING...AND HAVE ADDED THIS TO THE
FORECAST. A BLEND OF MET/MAV MOS USED FOR MIN TEMPS...MAINLY LOW-
MID 30S IN THE COLDEST SPOTS N OF NYC AND INTERIOR CT TO LOWER 40S
IN THE NYC METRO AREA.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
THE AREA REMAINS N OF THE WARM FRONT THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW AS
THE FIRST SFC WAVE RIDES ESE ALONG IT AND DAMPENS OUT ACROSS THE
ATLC. THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST PERIODS OF LIGHT RAIN THROUGH THE
DAY WITH PERSISTENT ONSHORE FLOW...WARM ADVECTION ALOFT AND
CONTINUED PVA/WEAK LIFT THROUGH THE DAY. OVERALL QPF WILL BE
LIGHT...BUT IT WILL BE A RAW DAY WITH TEMPS NOT RISING MORE THAN A
FEW DEGREES AND GUSTY E FLOW OFF THE COLD ATLC WATERS...ESP. ALONG
THE COAST.

Beautiful look at the Satellite and wind chills. Feels like 30s at lunchtime because of the cold waters off the coast

We're seeing it now.

One last look cause it's very "cool" to see. How often do we see water temps 35-40° this time of year?? Winds right off the water, clouds, and it feels like in the 30s April 4th afternoon. There's a chill in the air.

Yesterdays High Temps in the Northeast.

Temp hit 54° in northern CT. Didn't pass 43° at the SW coast. Sunshine had some to do with the areas that did hit 50s.

ObsMaps

FYI ...

Bridgeport, CT (BDR) April mean temp is 43.1° which is 1.6 BELOW normal so far which is the coldest April mean.

Windsor Locks, CT(BDL) April mean is 46.5° which is 2.5 ABOVE normal

Still to early to plant. We drop below freezing in most locations tonight

A GRADUALLY DIMINISHING NW FLOW COMBINED WITH A DRYING AIR MASS WILL ALLOW TEMPS TO FALL BELOW FREEZING MOST LOCATIONS...ABOUT 5 TO 8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. WITH THE START OF THE GROWING SEASON FOR NYC...TEMPS WILL GET INTO THE MID 30S. HOWEVER...THERE SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT WIND AND LOW ENOUGH RH TO IMPEDE FROST FORMATION.

While we're mostly seasonable during the day you're right, we still drop near or below freezing at night so it's too cold for even Strawberries still. Give it another couple weeks.

7am Temps

Check out the temps so far.... Northern CT been steady with max temps 55-61° but coastal CT has been bouncing a lot. 1 day in 50s, next in the 40s, next day in 50s then next day in 40s.

GFS6z Data for Danbury, CT. Pretty status quo.

Seasonable days, chilly nights. No real sustained extremes either way still. Those double digits popping up like they are here is what I was looking for in March. I guess we got spoiled in recent years seeing 50s/60s in March. lol

The 9th & 10th keeps showing a chilly couple days. Looks like rain on the 8th, rain on the 12th, rain on the 15th, rain on the 21st. Might end up a wet April.
