New Haven area has lots of high tech startup jobs, mainly small biotech firms. It is not surprising that New Haven has best job growth in CT.

Looks like GE hasn't had the best of luck since moving HQ to Boston.

The following quote is especially interesting:

"GE said earlier this month that it would delay construction of part of its headquarters to save money."

So again how are the tax increases gonna bring in the revenue when it's failed to do that the last few times? Even an idiot like malloy already figured this out.

In regards to cutting the budgets for our schools, would it be safe to say that if our town will be getting $0 from the state that we could then save money by not adhering to state testing. That would likely save the districts money. Just a thought.

That is only if they live there more than 6 months out of the year. Jay

CT should put tolls on highways, allow pot like Colorado, create mini San Francisco, more business friendly to allow companies to move in our state to cities so jobs can grown, make college and high skill workers stay in state. Get rid of car taxes by allowing pot recreation to generate more money

Colorado passes a milestone for pot revenue - Jul. 19, 2017
Link doesn't work but the math works out to $144 million annually. Not going to make a dent and we are sure to raise less after adjusting for population/tourism. Proportionately --- CT would earn $90mm/yr. We could close our budget and liability underfunding with that in 222 years! woohoo
