True but since there are so many people here ready and anxious to post the negative ones, I felt it only appropriate to post a positive one as well. Jay

Job stability scares me in this state. The state cuts to hospitals and mental health is having a large impact on hospital's. Friend's I know at a hospital are taking a 5% cut in pay making $600 less a month. All this talk of number crunching and reducing staff to keep hospitals financially stable. I hope Malloy dips into the emergency savings heard something close to $65 million to help the budget out.

Why should Malloy dip into the emergency fund?

It's outrageous and heartless for Democrats to bring in more poor people to CT, while they can't take care of the poor already here.

So now it is government's job to take care of the poor? Or only Democrats? I find modern conservative positions so confusing....

Anyone else find it ironic this question is being asked by a self-proclaimed Democrat?

Does anyone find this odd? Not that GE is everything to CT, but GE said they will make a decision on the new HQ by the end of this year. Now we learn, that the week of Dec. 7 lawmakers are getting together and revising the budget which includes some revisions to the unity tax. Special budget session set for December - Connecticut Post

Maybe GE knew all along they had CT by the horns? I'm for it, with these revisions I hope it makes all CT companies more profitable.

I do not think it is odd or a coincidence. The Governor and Legislature know they have to fix this. It has been very publicly mentioned in the media. Hopefully they got the message and straighten this mess out. We will see.

Also anyone else getting annoyed by these television commercials by the hospitals crying about the cuts in funding they face? I almost think they will have a reverse impact on people's opinions. Any thoughts? Jay

Not annoyed it's really bad at the hospitals. The Governor in the last five year's has taken about $130,000,000 to $300,000,000 from hospitals in the state. This is causing cost of care to go up by 1.7%. Additionally, nurse to patient ratios are becoming dangerous. 1 Nurse to 10/15/Some places 20 patient's. This is due to fund's not there to hire nurse's or hospital's just have to let people go.

The state doesn't care about CT's health, social service's, school's, veteran's, or law enforcement.

I thought I had posted something on this before but could not find it. Fuelcell in Torrington is adding a 100,000 square foot addition to its facility there with plans to hire up to 325 new employees in the next 4 years. The company already has 540 employees so this is a very nice addition to our state. Jay
