Some good news. Pet food maker, Blue Buffalo, is committing to remaining and expanding in Wilton. The company was bought by General Mills last year so there was some question of if the company would move. Glad to see they plan to stay. Jay

Bridgeport is the 4th best city in entire US for a job? Which one of these seems out of place. San Fran, San Jose, NYC, Bridgeport.

It’s the Bridgeport/Stamford metro area.

Well then we know it is more Stamford than Bridgeport. Still, as someone coming off a job search this past fall, I found nothing to back that up. Some contract jobs in CT but I don't think $65 hr with no benefits is great pay for experienced professional in highly expensive area. Hard to believe we are mentioned in same breath as SF.

You forget Norwalk is also a major employment center with more than 45,000 jobs. Add that to Stamford's 76,000+ jobs; Greenwich's 35,000+; Darien's 8,300; New Canaan's 6,700; Wilton's 13,000; and Westport's 15,000, you have a sizable employment base of almost 200,000 jobs in the area.

A friend of mine just decided to change jobs and she had no trouble finding something in Stamford in literally days. She had several companies interested in her (a human resources executive). Guess it depends on what your area is. Jay

As I previously mentioned, Glassdoor ranked Hartford as the 5th best city to find a job. I also stumbled across this list by Fortune which ranks Hartford as No. 8. I am not sure how we or the local media missed this when it came out but that is pretty impressive. Jay

IT project management for global banking, Jay. I can assure you that you won't have a job in days in CT. It took me 4 months of heavy searching and extreme luck to stay in CT with a good paying, FT role. I know several people who looked for six months and ended taking a short term contract role..numerous others now doing 1.5 to 2 hour commute to city to get decent pay.
