I happen to see they have a sign (tiny one at that) saying the rest stop on 95 North will be closed for renovation starting 3/22

I have two questions..

1.) Where will the trucks park?

2.) How long for?

If it's anything like Milford is it going to be setup something like that for the renovation?

It's going to be almost exactly like the Milford renovation.

I think the answers to your questions will be on the ConnDOT website. Funny thing is that Last year I saw a segment on 60 Minutes that the Darien Service Center McDonalds was the busiest McDonalds in country. The franchise was owned by a minority who started working for McDonalds behind the counter as a teen. He worked his way up to owning several franchises including that one. Now it is closed. Still the guy is very wealthy and lives nearby in Darien. Jay

Not seeing anything on the DOT website about the project.. also about the service Center.. I find it hard to picture that it's the busiest McDonalds in the country.. I never heard about the history of the person who owned it.

Now from what I found other links talk about it

I-95 Rest Stops in Darien to Be Completely Replaced - Stamford, CT Patch

McDonald's, Rest Areas Get Facelift in Connecticut | The Daily Fairfield

I was hoping they would of got rid of the McDonalds It really is a pain to stop at that service Station at 4 AM.. the lady behind the counter I don't know if she could work any slower..

On Tuesday a guy was in front of me turned down his 2nd egg mcMuffin because the women making the stuff while waiting for something to heat up with her clear gloves on went to start sweeping with the broom then stopped and went back to messing with the guy's McMuffin.

I saw that too and was more fascinated by the stats of number of vehicles than his success. It is a prime spot for sure.

Wasnt that the one where he said Bathrooms are everything? If you dont have clean bathrooms they wont come back? lol. Something like that.

Haha the bathrooms? They sure do need a overhaul but How many people spend enough time to study it?? The lighting inside sucks that's for sure.

Ugh, we stopped at one of those on our way back home Wednesday afternoon. Not sure where though. Coming back from Stamford - the first one was closed for renovations and miles up parkway we stopped at the second one (well, second one for us, at least).

The new northbound Milford rest stop just opened and is the first new I-95 rest stop to open.

IMO making these rest stops better and better sucks commerce out of the towns.

well the one here closed like they said on the 22th it's 15 miles to the Fairfield one.. I don't think it sucks too much out of the local towns.
