Went to Mezcal again. So good.

Seriously the only REALLY authentic Mexican joint I've ever been to in this state. Well, at least one that is a proper sit-down restaurant and not just a lunch/takeout place. Such a rarity.

i lauded Joey Garlic's for its pizza earlier but i just went there for lunch about 2 weeks ago and apparently the rest of their food is pretty good as well (in my case the meatball salad). even the stuff i didn't have myself but saw carried to other customers tables looked awesome.

Is it a chain?

IN-N-OUT burger - just off the highway on Tropicana Ave.

Fatburger - Next to the MGM hotel

Wife and I didn't have a chance to try fatburger, but in-n-out burger is excellent. We went there twice.

Carl's Jr nothing special kinda reminds me what burger king burgers used to taste like. At least we can say we've been there though.

Except for the burgers I can't think of any other really different foods to try in Vegas.

If you have enough time try a side trip to the Hoover Dam. We thought the place was pretty cool and is only 45 mins from Vegas. (hint take the $11 tour)
I am in Vegas again this week-- I have reservations for Carne Vino on Friday night which is owned by Mario Batali. Was excellent last time.

Next week I am in Aberdeen, MD. I don't have high hopes

...and it appears they're opening a new branch in West Hartford, at Park & Quaker (the site of the old Barb's Pizza). Never tried them, hoping to!

I have been to Joey's a few times. They are pretty good depending on what you order. Their portions are large so people like to go there and bring home the extras. The last time we went it was just okay but we agreed it could have been what we ordered or an off day. Jay

I was just curious if they were a national chain or locally owned.

Joey Garlic's? Ehh? much better around than that place...Max Amore's for example.

We're going to Mohegan Sun next Saturday to see America in concert at the Wolf Den. What do you guys think the best restaurant at Mohegan Sun is?
