I'm sure there are some of you with similar commutes. I'm looking for approximate commuting times between New Haven, CT and Windsor, CT (exit 38) during 7:30-8:30AM and then reverse at 5:00-6:00PM. I assume it will be I-91N.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

I would guess about 1 hour and 20 minutes or so give or take since it is during Rush hour.

It's not a commute I would make, thats for sure!!

You will be commuting a significant distance (about 45 miles) AND through Hartford which will be difficult. Without traffic it would be an hour. With traffic about 90 mintues. Jay

If you are starting from i-91 north in the New Haven area it would be easier. Once you are past Hartford you are going against commuter traffic.

Expect traffic to start backing up anywhere from exit 23 on i-91 north all the way to Hartford. Once you get thru that gauntlet, it should be easy driving to Windsor.

I did Middletown to Enfield about 10 yrs ago and that's the way it was. Hopefully, it hasn't changed.

I've known some people who have had to make that commute...90 minutes is going to be the key number but as others pointed out it's the stop and go through hartford that is going to make it take that long.

Factor into this if you're likely to reverse the commute and start working in the town you live. If that's unlikely you may want to try to move closer (doesn't have to be right away...let the idea of this commute synch in) or if you're not sure you may want to move somewhere in the middle...rocky hill/middletown maybe.
