I have a new windows 8 laptop. I can't seem to find the RIP option in the windows media player. I would like to rip some of my CDs but I can't find the rip button. My option is set to 'rip cd automatically' and guess what, the cd does not get ripped. Does anyone know what is going on? I am pretty sure a month ago, I had a ripped a cd on this computer. Not 100 percent sure but pretty sure.
I need to rip the songs from the CDs to my library. Anybody help? Thank you
Any useful suggestions, please? I checked in my old windows vista laptop and I can see the rip option. Unfortunately the cd drive in that laptop does not work.
Wonder why and what Microsoft did in the later systems to 'hide' the rip option? Is there a solution to this?

It happens that the cd that I had some mpeg videos too and somehow the media player did not recognize anything on it and hence nothing was displayed and hence no rip option too. With other CDs, the list of tracks with the rip option displayed. I could rip without a problem.
For the problem cd, I copied and pasted the audio tracks on to my laptop and then created a playlist. Still works. Wonder why we should rip when we can copy and paste? I could copy and paste for a few other CDs too but I remember some time ago, I had to rip to have the tracks on my computer.
