That's the worst way to make the text larger. Driving a display with discrete pixels at anything other than the native resolution (exceptions for resolutions that divide evenly into the native resolution) makes everything fuzzy.
The better way is to tell the system that your display has a higher spatial resolution (dots or pixels per inch), so that it draws the text larger, using more pixels. That preserves the 1:1 mapping, and nice sharp edges at pixel boundaries, while still making the text larger and more readable.
