Hi Everyone,

I am moving to Columbus, OH due to a job transfer. Unfortunately, I have never been to Columbus, OH. I need to know which cities are safe for a single woman in her late 20's to live in.

I would prefer to live around single, young working proffesionals. My budget for a 1 bedroom apartment is up to $650.00.

I am willing to consider safe neighborhoods that are 10 to 15 miles away from Columbus. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where exactly will you be working? If you want to be 10-15 minutes from your job that information would be helpful.

Off the top of my head Grandview/ Grandview Heights and the area around Easton Town Center (I believe it is technically Gahanna) would be good options if you are looking for white collar but young populations. Are you looking for an area where you can walk to shops and restaurants or are you looking for something more residential? Other good options for finding people in their 20s would be Clintonville, Victorian Village and German Village.

I live in Pickerington - on the southeast side. This is a very safe town. I'm not sure what the price of apartments are here.

Why do you need to live in a different city? Columbus has lots of nice neighborhoods for 20-somethings. I'd recommend looking at apartments in the neighborhoods of Victorian Village, Harrison West, Italian Village, and German Village. Regarding suburbs, Grandview Heights is a nice option.

Victorian Village

Plenty of yuppies and in walking distance of everything that you'd need.

It's in the city and it's fairly safe.

Isn't that also considered the Short North? Not safe after dark. For anyone.

The Short North and VV are safe, come on. Just like any area, you use common sense and be alert and you should be fine. It's certainly nowhere near the level of crime like Linden, Hilltop, Franklinton, the South Side, etc.
