Returning to the 1950's home we own (in the St Francis Hospital area) of Columbus, GA in the summer of 2016. Would love info on local internet providers.

There is no cable in the house now.

We work from home and require a fast, dependable connection, and my google search thus far has proved confusing, as my address turns up "limited" service from Knology and no service available from Charter.

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

I've only been on Knology/WOW. Knology is now WOW cable. Have you tried searching under that name? I think I also know people that use Mediacom but I haven't looked into it much.

I checked WOW/Knology and it said "limited service" available at my address. This is an older early post-war neighborhood so I expect they won't be expanding there if they haven't already.

Mediacom is available there - they just sound too much like Comcast, whom we've been stuck with for years. I was hoping to go with a smaller company.

No true "small" companies anymore, all of them are pretty big. Mediacom is my favorite because they don't encrypt their channels requiring you to get a box for each of your TVs like Comcast does.

That's good to know! I HATE those boxes. Thanks!
