Not a bad guess and would be nice to see, except the bid's sq/ft is around 40k and the Sears building is easily twice that.

The marker by Heath Park is just Gmap's default center point for 31909, so we know it is somewhere in that zip code.

I don't know of any buildings this big in that area that could be used for Amusement. I thought this could possibly be the rest of the Stars & Strikes building, but that's only 34,000. "Demolition" doesn't exactly mean that they'd be tearing down the building.

Would Toys R Us / Babies R Us building be that big?

FWIW, the size of a typical Dave & Buster's is 40,000 sq. ft.

Yeah, this could be the ToysRUs building. I can't think of any other empty space around that size.

Oh snap. Haha, that would excite a lot of people and wouldn't be a bad fit right there.

They're doing a hell of a job keeping it under wraps if it is D&B. Normally, news like that leaks and spreads like wildfire.

That said, it does make sense. It's tea leaf reading, but D&B has been actively seeking out former Sears locations for their expansion.

I know they are doing it to the old Sears location in Chattanooga TN. I think years ago they were looking at Columbus. It would be awesome if they came here, but it really could be anything so I'm not holding my breath just yet. I just hope it's something new and from our most wanted list.

The fact that the construction bid is categorized as '"Amusement and Recreation Entertainment" and it's 44,430K sq. ft. really narrows down what it could possibly be.

Main Event and Topgolf are typically a bit bigger, while Columbus already has Bowlero, Sky Zone as well as Stars & Strikes.

I made mention of this late last year. I was saying the BJ’s project was dead and the gentleman that owns Wild Wing Cafe had posted a picture on his social media page stating he had bought the former Sears building and was bringing a family entertainment center here in Columbus. Dave and Busters also began designing smaller stores last year these are like ones in Huntsville, AL, Birmingham, and Rogers, Arkansas. I don’t think they franchise though. Top Golf recently started the Top Golf Suites. One opened in Fun Spot America in Fayetteville, GA last Thursday. So I have strong faith this will be the old Sears building in CPC.
