The Starbucks on Lincoln and gervais quietly closed a couple months back. It’s a dynamite location for a coffee shop though, hopefully Drip, Indah or Loveland step up to the plate and take over the vacancy

So, I was right. I thought they might have had shades down because of the sun shining in from an autumn angle. It definitely appeared dead. My spouse agreed, but mentioned he had just noticed one nearby.

Aw that sucks. I loved going there when I go to Cons at the Convention Center.

I wonder if they are moving elsewhere in downtown/vista? You are right in that there are four hotels within walking distance soon to be a possible fifth and six if the convention center expands and then you have the convention center itself. Seems odd that they would close and leave the area as opposed to relocate elsewhere

The Starbucks website shows it as temporarily closed. A few weeks ago a local tv newscast reported on staffing shortages in the local labor market, citing as examples both Drip downtown and Starbucks on Gervais locations as temporarily closed due to lack of skilled baristas.

With the aggressive expansion of Starbucks in the Midlands lately, I’d be surprised if this location is permanently closed. At the very least I would expect them to open up in another Vista location.

Maybe not so dynamite a location if they couldn't keep it open. I would imagine Starbucks would be the group to make it work if anyone could.

I think it honestly is a barista issue. That’s why drip is closed for rn. They’re still leasing the building according to the news article I read. But my friend who lives out near Lexington HS said a local coffee place out there is closed rn for the same reason.

Yeah, it’s a staffing issue. The Starbucks near me was closed for a week and has been closed other random days because of staffing. I’ve been to the Gervais Starbucks numerous times and it’s always busy.

According to an article in the P&C today, this is a staffing issue and a temporary closing according to the property owner.
