I have looked into "legal guardianship" and the 'hoops you have to jump through' are horrendous. A lawyer is a first step. I fathered 2 children and both are thriving today. IMO the legacy we're leaving our children today is FEAR not survival as we were given in our early days. Thanks.
I have people I love and care about living in Pueblo and commute often to see them so thats how I find out certain things. Some are elderly folks I check on.

I agree with you about the nationwide greed thing, yes its not exclusive to Pueblo...Its definitely everywhere. I think the people who are emotionally invested and care enough about their communities are the ones who help help improve things over time. Problems can be fixed.
Nothing is hopeless.

I get the mindset about taxes, but there are some things that we can't skimp on, that we have for way too many years.

Education, public safety, and transportation. I really don't care if people complain about taxes for those. It's cheaper to educate our children and maintain the institutions than pay other countries or states to do the jobs we can't. Schools here in Pueblo are falling apart. That is no joke. This city is fighting to save high schools.

Same goes for public safety, we don't want to pay for police, firefighters, and jails. Yet people complain response times are too long, people get hurt, houses burn in fires. Police departments are going on TV to beg for equipment because resources have already been cut so bad. Jails need maintenance, or are overcrowded, and some get let out early who shouldn't.

If you want inept professionals working for you, inept doctors treating you, overworked and underpaid, yep. I worked 12 years keeping my fellow citizens safe.

I'm just not hearing that argument anymore, I'm sorry.
Oh you're correct about the light on Prairie. Thought I'd heard they were removing it. Residents are also sick of speeders along there especially from about Abriendo to Orman or so.
