Hi:
I've been reading quite a few responses from people regarding moving to Colorado and I have a few questions myself.
My wife and I are seriously thinking of relocating from NJ because we both love the outdoors and want a better quality of life for our 2 little girls and ourselves.
I've spent the past 10 summers visiting Colorado to hike and camp and travel the state and I love it, but then again I was on vacation.
We are not that concerned about the weather, but more about the job market and finding family-oriented towns.
We are considering living outside of Denver, somewhere between Westminster and Loveland. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
As far as the job market is concerned, I'll probbaly be looking for a teaching position, most likely high school or college and my wife is leaning towards non-profit organizations. For anyone who is a teacher, I have a few questions:
What's the market like for teachers?
What's the pay scale for people with experience?
What are the schools like?
Do the school systems offer a decent benefits package for employees and their families?
Until we get on our feet out there, where would be the best places to rent an apartment or townhouse?
And for those who have families, small kids, what are some of your favorite places and things to do, other than enjoy the great outdoors, because we are all already very much into that aspect of Colorado.
Thanks for any and all help.
Tom

Is NJ bad enough to make you want to take a huge financial risk and move across the country in the midst of a nationwide financial implosion?

re: teaching, see: https://www.city-data.com/forum/color...-colorado.html

In the Denver and COL SPGS indexes are threads on schools as well.

COL SPGS is VERY affordable and family oriented, with fine school districts.

Use the index to see key threads with lots of info, or use search tool.
