You'd better talk to the land owners first! But once you do, they may be totally fine with it.

Springfield has those wind towers around, so maybe they did get rid of the disgusting pesky disease-ridden rodents.

I'd check those places out in Arapahoe and maybe Brandon, west of Towner and Sheridan Lakes. Burl S. comes to mind, or the Beeks! They have a lot of land and no need for those critters.

We used to go to some BLM land outside of Crook Colorado. Haven't been there in years so I can't say its still accessible.

Ah the pink mist, sure miss those days! Just watch out for the rattlers.

Do the Prairie Dogs carry the hantavirus like the rats and mice?

I have friends that prairie dog shoot in Colorado. They are all over and he just finds land-owners who are more than happy to let him shoot all day long. Not sure where or what forum to look into contacting people who have prarie dog problems. I'd say just stop in a small town where you see a bunch of dog holes around and ask!

I don't need a guide just pointed in the right direction, i don't have a problem talking to land owners i'm just wanting to find out where to begin. Thanks
They really seem to like Boulder County, where they have human friends in high places.

I have to think there are millions of them spread around this State, especially out on the Eastern plains. Try around Sterling & Fort Morgan, maybe? Maybe not far enough East for you though...

Here's a map and blog post about a free range to target shoot at.

Free Shooting Range Near Fort Collins - Fococo

I'm not sure if you can shoot prairie dogs on pawnee but there is a lo of wildlife there and I know you can hunt there.
