I've had the best luck with Verizon or AT&T when traveling through there. Those two carriers generally have the best coverage in the rural parts of the state, with the exception of the San Luis Valley. Verizon has some issues there, if one gets away from Alamosa for any distance.

We have ATT and always get great 4G/LTE coverage when we're in Durango. 5 bars nearly all of the time including in our residence.

So ATT and Verizon sound like the best choices.

I have Sprint now. Does anyone have any experience with Sprint in downtown Durango?

When I was visiting my Mom in Pagosa years back Alltel was the best. My T mobile worked fine there. Vz gets best rating nationwide and they are damn expensive, my $90 month bill speaks to that.
