We are looking to relocate to Co. Wife is taking a job in Denver. We have been looking in the Bennett area as we have horses and want to get a home with some property. Can anyone give me information on the weather in the plains? Have heard they have tornados? What should we know about the area if that is where we end up? Any other suggestions on areas within a 50 mile radius that have inexpensive horse property? Thank you everyone.

Bennett, Strausburg, Deertrail all in Arapahoe County.

In Douglas County look in Elizabeth.

Is her job in Denver?

The Bennett area does have tornados sighted and touch down at times during the summer. And, in the winter we have seen I70 shut down through there due to heavy snow.
Was going to buy horse property there, but went to Parker instead........but didn't get horse property.

Default Information on Bennett Co.

Thank you all for your reply. Yes, her job is in Denver. She has looked at a couple properties in Bennett already. I have been looking the other direction, Elizebeth, Parker, as well. Any info on those areas would be appreciated also!!

Hi Vegas couple! Your name "Vegas" caught my eye as we are also looking to move to Colorado and currently live in Vegas. We are looking into the Castle Rock area. We took a trip there a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Are you currently in the Vegas area? We are and can't wait to get out. If you are in Vegas or have been what was your experience living here, if you don't mind me asking This is by far the worst place I have lived!!.

Worst place to live just about nails it!!! I was in Denver last weekend and was just amazed at the difference. Did not get a chance to drive down south to Elizabeth or Castle Rock though. We did hit the Bennett area. Not bad.
