We are relocating to the COS area, with two horses and a teenage girl who is really unhappy to leave her friends in Iowa... can you help direct us to neighborhoods that are horse friendly (She wants to be a barrel racer...) that would have good schools, and other gals her age with "horse fever"? We will have between $225K and $275K to spend on our property, she will be starting high school in the fall... Oh boy, do we need assistance!!!!! Will need to move before the end of March, so please tell us neighborhoods we might start researching... I understand some neighborhoods have trails for the horses??? That would be great! We are thinking we may need to look out east on the plains... any other advice? Thanks so much!

Look up towards Elizabeth, Kristie Peterson still has a training center there and I think she is doing some training. Look up Frenchman's Quarter Horses. I haven't talked to her in many years but I think she personally has moved away but still has the training center with her daughter Jordon. So google those names

You can always "go detective" by doing google searches for farriers in towns like Yoder, Peyton, Elbert, or COLO SPGS and then give them a call; THEY will know where the horses and horse people are.

I am a local horse person; my family and I have participated in rodeos, 4H and horse shows. I am also up to date on what type of wells would be needed for you to have horses or other animals.
