I'm looking for a geology textbook (college level). Can you recommend one? There seem to be many available and I'm looking for one with a more narrative text and something that is "fun" to read. I'll be buying a previous edition an don't want to pay much. This is not for a class. Thanks!

What aspect of geology most interests you? General, paleontology, plate tectonics, ore/mineralogy, etc?

Some of better recommended books, but higher $$$ than what you are after I imagine:
Amazon.com: Earth: Portrait of a Planet, Second Edition: Stephen Marshak: Books
Amazon.com: Understanding Earth: John Grotzinger, Thomas H. Jordan, Frank Press, Raymond Siever: Books
Amazon.com: Earth System History: Steven M. Stanley: Books
Amazon.com: Planet Earth: Cosmology, Geology, and the Evolution of Life and Environment: Cesare Emiliani: Books

The last one, highly recommend as a general reader.
