52 - 51 - 7 < this is the record. ONE game over TCU in the series all-time. Just one. And it took them these last 2 meetings to do that.
You talk about Baylor "beating up on TCU all those times before 2011", it seems that you're skipping some years...
Baylor's football team really wasn't worth a damn until RGIII came along. Sure, they had a few winning seasons here and there and played in some bowl games. But they were never really a national championship caliber program until JUST NOW. Everything that they're doing or trying to do now, TCU already did years ago... decades ago, even.
But Florida State had the better football program over TCU for a long time. Somewhere in between Sammy Baugh and Jeff Ballard, TCU was a doormat with a couple good seasons thrown in, and Florida State won a couple national titles within that time period (1965 - 1998)
My comment was about college football in general that you quoted, not FSU or Baylor specifically...

TCU maybe, they stepped up and showed they belonged, and made their case for being in the final 4.

Weaker schedule than TCU, and choked away a 20 point lead to the 3rd-best B1G team when they had a chance to prove they belonged.
How is that? Of course Baylor just gave their game away but prior to that Baylor had lost to WV and TCU after leading all day gave away a last minute decision on the road against a top 5 team.
It could be argued that TCU had the "best" loss of all of the contenders.
You could make that argument, and many would buy it, but there were other arguments to make. I'm not necessarily saying that TCU didn't have a good case, or that they weren't better than Baylor. It happens all the time where a team that loses the first time comes back and dominates a rematch. All that could be true.
I guess the only point I'm making is that as strong as TCU's case was, the four that got in, and even Baylor, had an equally strong premise - and there's only room for four.

The problem is, the argument to be made for being in the championship playoff has to be made before the playoff, not after. Baylor beat TCU by hanging 60 points on them. I can't remember too many championship teams that have given up 60 points in two consecutive games, let alone a single contest. That doesn't mean that TCU isn't good; I think they're clearly among the very best. Doesn't matter.

You realize Baylor scored like 24 unanswered points in the last 11 minutes of the game against TCU.. Right? And MSU is not the third best in the Big 10.. Last I checked they're ranked 2nd highest... The only two teams MSU has lost to are now in the national championship.. They could arguably be the 3rd best team in the country... TCU played a seriously overrated team from a seriously overrated conference. Arkansas beat Ole Miss like 30-0... ARKANSAS.
