Arizona doesn't expect either the Committee, the media or any other source to give them as much respect as other teams receive. They haven't been in these stranger, deeper waters before, so they continue to be an afterthought.

What they will do is continue to play each game as they know how to do, regardless of what the other teams are doing or what is said. As Coach Rodriguez indicated, they weren't exactly planning on being here for the Pac-12 Championship (in his third year!), but here they are and they'll continue to prepare as they always do for the next team, next game.

actually they have, just not consistently enough to warrant the attention that say alabama gets.

i like Arizona. Their fans have have got to be concerned with not only the Oregon matchup but also what's going to happen if Florida decides to back up the armored truck in Rich Rod's driveway. The Gators said they are not going to interfere with anyone's season but I would expect a generous offer after the Oregon game, he's definitely on their short list.

i doubt that rich rod is going anywhere, at least i hope not. but win or lose, the university is likely to offer him a contract extension publicly to ward off any other school from courting him. but if he does leave, he has at least set the team up to be winners in the near future, though we might lose a few recruits along the way. we shall see.

there is one thing that just might keep rich rod here at arizona for the time being, and that is his son is the starting QB at one of the high schools here. so if he moves, there is no guarantee that he will be the starter at what ever high school he goes to in florida.

It seems Arizona fans can exhale now, the latest news has FL getting Colarado St's McElwain for new head coach. I would have preferred Rodriguez though.

florida probably didnt want to wait for RRs son to graduate high school.

as for mcelwain, he may not be going to florida after all;

something about the buyout clause in his contract at $7.5 million

Yep, it's that time of year again! Time to go find another coach... because we just fired our current coach... which we just hired a few years ago! What a merry-go-round of musical coaching chairs! Almost gives the phrase "reason for the season" a new meaning!

The 1998 team should have been in the National Championship game, but they got trumped by just what you said. FSU's reputation.

you might want to check again. arizona was ranked 7th in the BCS standings, with notable teams above them being ohio st, ucla, kansas st, as well as tennessee, florida st, and texaz a&m. and we lost to ucla that year.
