Does Purdue and Michigan State drop Notre Dame from their schedules? Realignment is killing off a lot of good rivalries.
B1G teams will have nine conference games starting in 2016. That'll make it tougher to schedule some non-conference opponents. I wouldn't be surprised if this caused some traditional non-conference rivalries to fall by the wayside.
It's nice to see the Big Ten going to 9 conference games to help lessen the blow of having 14 teams. The SEC should do the same, that way teams will not go so long without playing one another if they're in different divisions.

I agree. I think some of those SEC teams don't even play some teams at least once every 4 years. Weird to be a 4 year starter and never played a certain team in your own conference. I could be wrong though. Too lazy to look it up.
Congrats to the big ten-----as television rights fees escalate the networks will no longer tolerate huge mismatches and unattractive scheduling.
Also with the new playoff system coming, it is my opinion that strength of schedule is going to play an important factor in deciding which four teams get into the playoff. Having a perfect record is not going to cut it any longer if you play a weak schedule-----this is evident in that some intereting matchups are being scheduled for the upcoming seasons.
