Jim Tressel gets two-game ban for NCAA violation - ESPN

Will he get more from the Big 10/11 or the NCAA?

He should get the same amount of time as the players.

2 games is RIDICILOUS!!! Especially against Akron and Toldeo, I believe.... I still wonder how those players were allowed to play in the bowl game....

The NCAA would have lost money if they had to sit out all the best players in one of the 4 major bowls. Thus the NCAA decision.

Akron and Toledo are powerhouses.

NCAA should bring the hammer down. The lie and coverup? Pretty much now I'm like "**** Jim Tressel."

"It takes less time to do the right thing than to explain why you did it wrong."
A quote from his book. (pg. 201)

Dirtiest program in the league. Lack of institutional control is obvious.

Heres a copy of the Emails

Tressel should just resign. I heard Pete Carrol could use an assistant.

Real good op-ed by Mark Schlabach here, pretty much tears t0SU a new one. It's hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

Yet no one wants anything to happen to Cam Newton and Auburn. I predict that b/c this is Ohio State (who self reported this btw) which is the most hated sports program in the nation if not the world that Tressel is going to get forced out and OSU is going to get the "death penalty".

I do agree that Tressel was wrong to cover this up and agree that he should probably be suspended for the same amount of time as the players. Why wouldn't he turn this over to his AD? Bad judgement IMO.

He needs to sit 1 year just like they did to Dez Bryant. He's no different.

Definitely a sticky situation... We may look back at this as when his clean cut image of a program began to unravel. The hounds are loose now... And they usually find all kinds of stuff when they are sniffing around

Don't worry Auburn will probably be stripped later on like USC was with Reggie Bush. The NCAA weren't going to sacrifice the money by benching the biggest star in the game.
