Not hardly. There are still certain classes of racing that do not permit fuel injection and I believe that many of the participants like it that way.
I myself have just had a close friend complete work on my engine that will be used for drag racing that uses a Holley dominator carburetor. I also like it that way. Simple to operate and troubleshoot when need. The motor will produce over 700 horsepower. Pro stock drag engines use dual carburetors and produce well over 1000 horsepower on gasoline.
