I don't know if I'd call it collecting, but I like 1920's and 30's style deco watches and clocks, and I have few I've gotten here and there. As I said in another thread I have a huge collection of collections.
This is a copy of a post I made back in Sept. of '06.
I have numerous watches, (I collect). Some of my favorites are 1949 Baume-Mercier Chrono, 1944 Omega Moon Phase, 1965 Omega Seamaster Chrono, 1952 Rolex Datacompax, 1954 Rolex Oyster Date Just. I also have a Enicar Sherpa Guide (which is not worth a lot of money) however it does have history. In 1978 it was worn on an attempt to summit Mt. Everest. It made it to the summit on 10-16-78 worn by Ang Dorje Sherpa, one of the few people to summit Everest without the use of oxygen. I try to wear them as often as I can.
I am currently looking into buying a "IWC Pilots Watch Chrono." It's a real nice piece and affordable by IWC standards. My daily watch is a 2002 Omega Seamaster auto (AKA The James Bond watch).
I love timepieces (wristwatches only). I dont have a buttload of $ to spend on them though. As of now I only have 5 watches, totalling about $,1500 altogether. Heck, a crappy Patek Phillipe goes for MUCH more than that! LOL
